Yatsugatake Nojo Camera
February 28, 2008
This is a streaming camera of great interest for watching mountain weather conditions. For the past two days I watched a raging blizzard from this location, and today the weather began to clear. Keep in mind, to view the Axis camera set, you have to download the viewer driver the first time you watch the camera. After the one download, all Axis cams will be available.

As near as I can find (not being fluent in Japanese). The camera is located near the city of Ueda Japan, and the view is toward Mt. Yatsugatake to the south. On a clear day a viewer should be able to see Mt. Fuji in the distance toward the coast. Below is a thumbnail from GE showing the view as I see it.
Mykonos Greece Webcams
February 27, 2008
Can’t find enough good things to say about this streaming camera. Located on the island of Mykonos, where according to Greek mythology: Mykonos was the location of the battle between Zeus and the Gigantes, and the island was named in honor of Apollo’s grandson Mykons. Today the island is one of the most cosmopolitan tourist spots in the world. Featuring an intense nightlife, it rivals Ibiza, Ayia Napa and Rimini as a jet set destination.
This, to be honest, is one of my 10 favorite places to watch the sunrise. Mykonos has one of the best camera streams I’ve ever seen. Cam uses MediaPlayer and fullscreen view is awesome. Site also has multiple static cams, slideshows of dawn and dusk, and even a google map with locations and information about nearby cargo and passenger ships. Streaming camera is controlled remotely and pans a preset path.
Longonot Webcam Kenya
February 22, 2008
Deep in the heart of the Great Rift Valley in Kenya lies a dormant volcano, Mt. Longonot (9,111 ft above sea level) derived from the Masai word O-Loo-Nong’ot, meaning ‘of the valleys’. Straddling the slopes of Longonot and bordering Hell’s Gate National Park to the West, (which a million years ago formed the dramatic outflow of fresh water from Lake Naivasha) lies the Great Rift Valley.

This camera, a gift from the RVA class of 2005, is terrific for watching a great variety of cloud formations. Also watch the 24hr slide show and the archive of unusual shots.
Coffee Gallery Webcam
February 21, 2008
Watch customers in a coffee shop located on the north shore in Oahu Hawaii. During daylight hours this shop is quite busy, with an unusual mix of people.

O’Higgens Base Antarctica
February 20, 2008
This is the best time of year to watch the Gentoo penguins raising their young. Penguins arrive in late September to breed, and they depart the following April. There are multiple cameras to view with varying refresh rates.

The cameras capture live images of the Penguins, and zoomed cameras provide the chance to watch these fascinating creatures close at hand.
There are also stunning sunrises and sunsets from an area so remote few will ever see them firsthand.
Here is a link to the German weather station GARS with additional information and cams.
Lagos Portugal
February 19, 2008
Located on the extreme southern tip of Portugal, these web cams offer several panoramic views of the Portuguese coast. Three camera views, one live stream, and the option to view 24 hour archives featuring high res pics. Also has a kml link to GE. This is a hard to beat combination for great views.

This is an ideal spot for watching the sunrise and sunset, but for those who enjoy the tumult of a wild ocean storm, this location will not disappoint. All views have a truly exotic flavor capturing lush vegetation against the backdrop of the rugged coast.

Tokyo Parking Lot Cameras
February 18, 2008
These cameras are scattered about the many parking lots in Tokyo Japan. This is one of my favorite webcam sites. I am always amazed at the things you see in parking lots. More than you might imagine. The map is a little trickey to navigate because of the language, but watching a cam involves two steps. Lots with streaming cameras are indicated by the little pink icons. Click on an icon, a new window opens, and from the picture at the top right of the window chose the blue tabs to open a camera in yet another window.

The resolution and size of the windows is very good, and some lots have multiple views. I usually have three or four cam windows open at one time. I spent a good bit of time a couple of weeks ago watching a crow hopping and splashing in rain puddles as the sun was coming up.
Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia
February 17, 2008
It would be hard to find a better spot from which to watch North-Atlantic storms pound the coast with waves. Recently I watched such a storm for a couple of hours and viewed some awesome waves explode over the rocks.

Camera is nicely placed to watch cloud formations and of course the sunrise. The cove was named after the sole survivor of a shipwreck in 1800.
