Arunachala Hill Cam

This hill is one of the most sacred sites in India. Thiruvannamalai as the region is known has been home to many yogis seeking spiritual liberation. This area is held to be so sacred that even gazing at the hill is said to confer spiritual benefit. Picture below catches the hill covered by a cloud bank at sunrise.

Every full moon night, tens of thousands of pilgrims worship Shiva by circumambulating the Arunachala hill barefoot. The circumambulation covers a distance of about 14 km.

Popocatépetl Volcano Cam

This is one of the big volcanoes worth monitoring. Commonly referred to as ‘El Popo’, this is the second highest mountain in Mexico and one of the most active volcanoes in the country. There have been 20 major eruptions since 1519, the last major eruption occurred in 1947. The name of the volcano translates as ‘mountain that smokes’.
